Is Your Marriage in Crisis? – Answer a Few Simple Questions to Save Your Marriage
Friday, June 26th, 2009Is your marriage in crisis? That's an important question to ask. Unfortunately, many couples wouldn't even know it if their marriage was in trouble. Often times a marriage in crisis starts as a marriage that's slightly boring or has lack of spark, and later becomes worse until it can no longer be saved. Therefore, it's crucial for you to pay attention to the warning signs. So what are the signs of a troubled marriage?
There are a number of them, and if you ever feel there's something not quite right, don't just ignore it. Attempt to work it out with your partner so that the two of you can save your marriage. One of the most important things in a healthy marriage is sex. While marriage is not all about sex, having a healthy sexual relationship is crucial to a healthy marriage.
So, how often do you have it? Do both of you regard it as a big thing and have scheduled times for it? Do you also do it spontaneously, just when you feel like it? When you have children naturally it becomes harder for you and your spouse to find time to spend together like over a meal or before leaving for work. Finding time to make love seems to be even more difficult. However, if despite your busy life you and your partner still manage to set aside certain times for sex, it's a sign that you have a healthy relationship and less likely to experience marriage in crisis.
The next question to ask is whether or not there is physical affection between the two of you. Are you happy when you're together? Do you hug and kiss each other throughout the day? A loving couple will often touch each other just in passing. One will give the other a fast kiss on the cheek or forehead for no reason. The lack or absence of these things may be a sign of a marriage in crisis.
Another thing you should pay attention to is common courtesy between you and your spouse. How often do you say "thank you," "please," or "excuse me" to each other throughout the day? Do you actually find that you say them more often to strangers? If so, that may be another sign that your marriage is in crisis.
The good news is, a marriage in crisis can still be saved and doesn't have to lead to a divorce. That's why just like with your physical health, it's very important to recognize the earliest signs of trouble so that you can quickly take action to save your marriage.
